This photograph was taken at an exhibition of Jamaican painting on Dec 16,1948. In attendance was Mr. Gresch James the Colonial Secretary. This is an exhibition of Jamaican Arts at Fayles Gallery. The exhibition was opened by Mr. Philip Director of the Art in the Arts Council and was attended by Mr. Digby, Keeper of the Department of Textiles at the Victoria and Albert Museum and by Mr. Nolesworth, Keeper of Architecture and Sculpture at the Victoria and Albert Musuem.
