This is an original journal written in two notebooks that are illustrated with various family photographs and watercolour drawings including that of Commissioner's House Bermuda, Dromedary hulk at Bermuda, Clarence and Battery Point at Antigua, the Blue Basin of Trinidad, San Francisco Church Caraccas, Bermuda Dockyard Fortifications, views in the woods of Nova Scotia, entrance to Havana, etc. It is an extremely interesting journal of life in the Navy on the West India station with visits to New York and Caraccas, giving many little details of life on board not usually met with in similar narratives. The notebooks are leather bound.
