Summary: This collection has biographical notes chiefly from Chancery records and the Royal Gazette etc. The following information can be found in each respective volume: Vol. 1-2 (1790 -1825) Vol. 3 (1855 -1953) Contains a collection of letters, documents, etc; many bearing the signatures of governors and other dignitaries. Vol. 4 (n.d) Contains the general pedigree of Ross J. Livingston, Brodbelt, and others on the paternal side and the families of Harris, Carpenter, Smith, and others on the maternal side. Vol. 5 (n.d) The maternal families Vol. 6 (n.d) Copy with "notes and recollections" added by Zoe Julia Adele Livingston. Vol. 7 (n.d) Typescript copy Vol. 8 & 9 (n.d) Harris family; genealogical notes typescript Vol 10 (1950) Jamaica Society for Prevention of cruelty to animals; draft bill. Vol. 11 (1950) Jamaican Archives: broadcast talks for the Jamaican Historical Society; also Sir Hilary Jenkinson's memorandum upon work required in the Archives deposited in the care of Institute at Spanish Town.
