This manuscript gives a historical overview of Jamaica. Chapter 1 examines the geographical feature of the island. Chapter 2 looks at the colonization of the Caribbean. Chapter 3 looks at Jamaica as a Spanish Colony. Chapter 4 looks at Jamaica as a British Colony. Chapter 5 gives the name of the parishes and their historical cites. Chapter 6 is entitle "a people in the making". Chapter 7 examines the architectural buildings, arts and crafts of the country. Chapter 8 looks at the different sporting activities and past times of the people of the country. Chapter 9 examines the professional and social life of the people. Chapter 10 looks at education of the Jamaican people; chapter 11 trade and commerce. Chapters 12 & 13 agriculture and agricultural industries. Chapter 14 the natural history of the island, Chapter 15 flora and fauna of the island. Chapter 16 provides notes for visitors to the island, such as how to dress when they visit the island (clothing), hotel accommodations, types of transportations and their costs (fares).
