Excerpt from Lady Nugent's Journal. The journal was issued for private circulation in 1839 and an edition, edited by Frank Cundall was published by the West India Committee.
This excerpt covers entries during the period October 8, 1803 - October 28, 1803.
Lady Nugent recounts the vaccination of her baby daughter against small-pox from the arm of another child. The doctor's later opinion that the procedure had been unsuccessful is also recorded.
The journal was published serially in the West Indies Review.
