Summary: Profile with host Ian Boyne speaking with guest Dr. Marvin Reid Director Sickle Cell Unit, Lecturer UWI, 1983 recipient of the Grace Kennedy Scholarship from the Grace Kennedy Foundation, he has both MD and PHD Degrees as well as doing Post-Graduate Research in colleges overseas. Mr. Boyne will look at Dr. Reid's life, his work, achievements and the kinds of things which have helped in the building of his life of success and achievements. Dr. Reid spoke about being positive and optimistic and how this has helped him in his own life to accomplish all he has; also discussed was his early years of growing up he was born in St. Mary and then moving to Kingston. His school life was also looked at from Preparatory School level right up as his mother always instilled in him the importance of education; along with his research program involving sickle cell disease and its effect on children, treatment and management.
