Summary: Profile with host Ian Boyne speaking with guest Mr. Neville Clare, MA who is suffering from Sickle Cell Anaemia, being in pain his entire life; not feeling sorry for himself but instead an optimistic, radiant person who believes in turning his troubles into opportunities. He has founded an organization called OSCAR-Organization for Sickle Cell Anaemia Research and has written this book about it called "An OSCAR for my troubles" in which he details the difficulties he had to face, the pains and being hospitalised more than one hundred times. They discussed his early years growing up in Allman Town and Jones Town as well as going to England and being diagnosed with the Sickle Cell Disease at the age of seventeen years and his family life being married and a father to his step-daughter. The Foundation he found was looked at and the numerous awards he has received from the community and other institutions along with his earned Masters Degree in Primary and Community Health despite his sickness.
