| Summary, etc. | This material represents copies of two letters from Lord Palmerston of the War Office: Letter 1 was written to Lieutenant General Sir James Leith, Colonel of the 4th West India Regiment on June 22, 1813 regarding the augmentation of the establishment of the 4th West India Regiment from 800 to 1000 rank and file to take effect on December 25, 1812. Letter 2 is circular number 156 dated February 17, 1813to Regimental, District, Detachment and acting Paymasters regarding the rule laid down in the 21st Article of the Explanatory Directors for the information and guidance of Paymasters and others. |
