At 5:30 pm, an opening lecture took place titled Jamaican/Caribbean Collective Creative Imagination: Mask, Myth, and Metaphor. Lectures were done by Rex Nettleford, Professor and Vice-Chancellor Emeritus University of the West Indies. Robert L. McNeil Jr.Lecture Hall, Yale University Art Gallery.
